Adrian W. Jachens, M.D., born and raised in New Jersey, graduated from Rutgers – New Jersey Medical School where he completed his doctorate of medicine and received several prestigious scholarships. He completed his ophthalmology residency at New York Medical College where he was selected to serve as chief resident his final year. Afterwards, he completed a sub-specialty fellowship in cornea and refractive surgery at the University of Texas – Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX. Dr. Jachens is board certified and a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the New Jersey Academy of Ophthalmology. He has lectured at international conferences as well as published articles in various medical journals.
Dr. Jachens specializes in comprehensive eye care, including cataract and laser refractive surgery. He performs full and partial thickness corneal transplants, and handles complex corneal and ocular surface diseases such as infections and dry eye syndrome. He enjoys skiing, volleyball and traveling with his wife and son.
